Altar Committee makes sure that the altar is approriatly dressed for the church season. They change altar cloths, prepare communion etc.

Audit Committee meets yearly to audit the financial books of Messiah Lutheran Church.

Christian Education Committee is tasked with making sure our members are educated in the faith. They plan and implement all the teaching ministries of the church including Vacation Bible School, Sunday School for adults and children, and other special events

Evangelism Committee works to spread the good news of Jesus Christ to all people. This includes everything from welcoming new visitors to helping the congregation reach out to the surrounding community. Some recent examples are the Lyndhurst Home Days Parade, the Hillcrest Band concert, and the development of church brochures.

Fellowship Committee plans social activities for the congregation. Recent examples include the Captain’s baseball game, the potluck for Pastor Fox’s ordination anniversary, and our Seder dinner. Many more events are being planned.

Finance Committee works on annual budgeting and financial issues for the church. An important task!

Nominating Committee is charged with finding appropriate congregational members to serve on the Church Council, and inviting them to serve.

Property Committee folks maintain the church property. They plan and implement repairs and improvements. Anytime the church property needs a bit of “TLC,” the property committee is there!

Social Ministry works to reach those in need in our community and beyond. They work closely with area congregations to deliver food, clothing, and necessities to people who need them. When they see a need in the community, they try their best to fill it!

Stewardship Committee is charged with teaching members of the congregation the Christian need to share the gifts they have been given. They plan and implement yearly stewardship drives to fund the mission, ministry, outreach, and day-to-day needs of Messiah.

Worship Committee the worship committee is charged with making sure that our Worship services at Messiah are a spiritually uplifting experience for all. They are involved in all aspects of worship planning.

Youth Committee members make sure our high school age youth are given opportunities to grow and learn in a safe Christian environment. They plan activities such as overnights, whitewater rafting, and our Easter breakfast with the youth themselves.
