Messiah is 125 years young this year!

What a milestone! Messiah’s quasquicentennial birthday! That is 125 in math terms, we think.
To commemorate this time in our history, the CXXV committee has put together a year of celebration, divided into 25-year segments!

March 3, 2019 (1894-1919): A church history talk will begin the services. The service itself will be taken from the old black hymnal, with hymns and an anthem and bulletin cover from that era.

5200 Mayfield Road, Lyndhurst, OH 44124

Excitement! History! Fun!

So mark your calendars:

May 5, 2019 (1920-1944)      September 8, 2019 (1970-1994)

June 2, 2019 (1945-1969)
October 6, 2019 (1995-2019)

A time line showing many important events from Messiah’s history will be on the wall leading to the sanctuary. Each family will have the year they joined Messiah notated on the time line. A history room will have items from the archives for all to see where we started and how we have traveled to 2019.
A DVD of the building of this Messiah and some great church picnics will be shown. In addition, a booklet of the life of Messiah will be printed.

We welcome all people to our worship services. If you are visiting, please feel free to introduce yourself to Interim Pastor Shelley. Our congregation strives to be a warm and welcoming place for all.

What is a worship service like?
Our worship service follows in the tradition of centuries of Christians before us.. We sing hymns both traditional and contemporary accompanied by various instruments: organ, piano, and guitar. Our choir sings an anthems both old and new and our bell choir lifts us to new levels of worship when they play for us.

What kinds of people are there?
On a typical Sunday, you'll see all kinds of people - from new  parents proud of their young children, to teenagers participating in our youth group, to senior adults hanging out with life long friends. Messiah is truly a multi-generational community of faith with people from all walks of life.

What should I wear?
Come as you are! While you might tend to worry about what to wear to church, you will fit in just fine whether you come in jeans and a t-shirt, polo and khakis, or a suit and tie. What is in our hearts is more important that what is on our body!
