We would like to share with you places to get food assistance in our area as well as some new volunteer opportunities. Besides supporting Messiah during this COVID-19 time, we would like to encourage you to support the greater church body and the world during this global pandemic.

Typically every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, Sept-May.
Faithful Friends is a ministry to developmentally and/or intellectually disabled adults from all over Northeast Ohio. Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 7:00pm - 8:30pm. (September through May)
A typical evening includes hymn singing, bible study, crafts, entertainment, and a snack. Hymn singing starts out the evening with everyone sitting in a giant circle, singing hymns, and cheering on members as they sing out to the group. Some of the hymns include Kumbaya, Jesus Loves Me, and This Little Light of Mine. Volunteers help organize the activities and set up the games. They also offer to each friend the gift of social interaction.
If you would like to volunteer please come, all are welcome. Any questions contact Sandy Tsvedos at firstname.lastname@example.org
Messiah actively collects food items for the Heights Emergency Food Center, which serves residents of Cleveland Heights, University Heights, South Euclid and Lyndhurst who have emergency food needs. However, due to the social distancing requirements in the building, they do not have any space now for additional donations. We have several food drives throughout the year, now including the Tri-C East campus food pantry.
Clothing is collected year round for the men's shelter at 2100 Lakeside.
We also give to Lutheran Disaster Response when an emergency arises anywhere in the country. We have collected coats for victims of Hurricane Sandy, as well as personal hygiene kits for the people of Haiti.
